  • Tell Us Your Career Path Until Now ..

It all began in the tile industry, managing a territory covering Kent, Essex, and North London. Following rapid growth of the area in a short space of time, I was overseeing the entire South East region, and then was offered a leadership role as Wholesale Manager. Here, I honed my skills by managing a team of merchandisers and participated in board meetings for the company.
In 2011, I was looking for something a bit more challenging and made the move in to the diamond tool industry, which was much more technical. I moved to the Lakes and took on the role of UK Sales Manager covering industries that included construction, stonemasonry, worktop fabrication & paving slab manufacturers. Hard work paid off, and I was later promoted to Director.
Fast forward to August 2017, and my journey led me to Seddons for a new challenge as the Regional Account Manager for the North. In December 2020, I was offered the exciting opportunity to become National Account Manager.

  • Why Did You Join Seddon Plant & Engineers Ltd?

I knew I wanted to be more involved in machinery and had two opportunities running alongside each other, but after meeting with Stephen Seddon and Lee Wright, I was impressed. They were both incredibly passionate about the company and its future, and the whole recruitment process felt refreshingly fast-paced. The number of staff that had been with the company for many years gave me confidence that Seddons would be a good company to build a career so I accepted their offer and ended the other opportunity.

  • What Do You Love Most About What You Do?

One of the things I love most about this job is the incredible variety of people I get to meet. I’ve met some great characters and I've had the pleasure of forging some amazing friendships along the way.

  • What Does Success Look Like In Your Role To You?

Sales is certainly results driven, but for me, the most rewarding part is when customers keep coming back to you for you, even if they change jobs. If you can resolve their problems and make their lives easier, you’re successful. I've built relationships with some great customers that have spanned many years, across different companies.
You can't achieve success alone though. In sales, we're all part of a team. The depot managers, the sales office staff, and the dispatch team – everyone plays a crucial role in delivering the outstanding service our customers expect. It's a true team effort.

  • Tell Us A Surprising Fact About Yourself …

I once won a large DJ competition in Kent which had over 500 entrants and spanned across 8 weeks.
It was judged by Nic Fanciulli, now one of the worlds best artists in that scene. This was back when DJ’ing was on Vinyl and you had to have the skill and know how to mix, none of this digital stuff where it does the work for you! The competition win led to residencies in Maidstone and gigs at Ministry of Sound in London.
